Jef Labes composed the musical numbers for the cult hit stage musical "Bye-Bye Bin Laden!" and then revised them for the animated feature.

He has two Gold Records on his wall, one as keyboardist on Van Morrison's legendary "Moondance" album, the other for Bonnie Raitt's album "Sweet Forgiveness." Labes worked with Morrison on six more albums, sometimes as arranger or co-producer, and was arranger and co-producer on Jesse Colin Young's "American Dreams" He has also written songs for many musicals, including "The It Girl," "Tik Tok of Oz," "Peer Gynt," "The Odyssey, "Little Women," "Lickety Split," and "Die, Die, Diana." He wrote the music for "Heathcliff" (the TV show and the feature film) and various other animated TV series, and composed and arranged music for NBC's "Saturday Night Live." He teaches music to elementary students at the Dover School in San Pablo, California, and on weekends sings at saloons in the San Francisco Bay Area.
